Typical duties include:
*Using a mix of science and hands-on experience and engineering techniques to interrogate programmable devices (Processors, FPGAs, PROMs, etc) on electronics and control systems.
*Writing specifications, and technical reports and drawing up theoretical designs to create user-friendly interfaces.
*Planning projects and preparing and managing budgets.
*Evaluating operational systems and recommending design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements.
*Using computer-assisted engineering (CAE) and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks, specifically reverse engineering.
*Hands-on with strong soldering and desoldering skills.
*Complex problem-solving skills and a methodical mind
*Critical thinking, communication skills, time management, and the ability to prioritize and plan work effectively.
