A self storage manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a self storage facility. This includes managing the facility’s finances, maintaining the physical property, and providing excellent customer service to tenants.

Responsibilities

As a self storage manager, some of your responsibilities may include:

Renting storage units to customers and managing lease agreements

Collecting rent and fees from tenants

Maintaining the security and cleanliness of the facility

Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and emergencies

Marketing the facility to attract new tenants

Maintaining accurate records and financial statements

Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed

Coordinating with maintenance and repair staff

To become a self storage manager, you typically need to have strong communication and organizational skills, as well as experience in customer service and/or property management. Many facilities require a high school diploma or equivalent, and some may prefer a college degree or certification in property management or a related field.
