Discover Learning is looking for Part-Time teachers in Maths, Science, and English with experience in Secondary Education.
Additionally, we are seeking a Chess Teacher.
As a part-time tutor, your job is to help students understand and master academic subjects, while also promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in your interactions with them.
Job responsibilities:
Provide academic assistance: The primary responsibility of a part-time tutor is to provide academic assistance to students. This may involve explaining concepts, answering questions, and helping students with homework and assignments.
Assess student needs: Assess a student’s needs to determine how best to help them. This includes identifying areas where the student is struggling and determining the most effective teaching methods to use.
Develop lesson plans: Create lesson plans that align with the student’s needs and academic goals. Lesson plans should be organized, easy to follow, and engaging.
Track student progress: Monitor a student’s progress and adjust lesson plans as necessary. This includes evaluating the student’s performance on assignments, quizzes, and tests.
Communicate with parents: A tutor should communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on their child’s progress and discuss any concerns.
Maintain records: Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including their strengths and weaknesses, areas for improvement, and any notable achievements.
Stay up-to-date with subject matter: Stay informed about changes in their subject area and incorporate new teaching techniques and strategies as appropriate.
Adhere to ethical standards: Adhere to ethical standards, such as maintaining confidentiality.
