The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in contemporary design software and exhibit proficiency in every stage of the design process, starting from initial concept development to the final product. You will be the one to shape the visual aspects of our branding and design projects to the finest detail, including logo menu designs, packaging, and other collaterals. Your designs have been based on strong narratives that are inspired by the appropriate inspirational angles, whilst taking into account the ambitions of our clients. Working closely with various teams within the organization, the graphic designer should possess the capability to translate written or verbal ideas into designs that connect. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and is able to find the right style and layout for every project.

Brand Development

Participate in workshops to understand the client’s vision and tactical needs. Contribute to the Concept Development team’s presentations, helping to set up the project for promising future aesthetic exploration.
Participate in naming brainstorms and review final naming options, lending design insight to ensure strong and viable options are presented to the client

Identity Design

Create the conceptual vision for each project, iterate on its design expression per internal critique and client input, and develop the final executions
Kickoff the brand design process to facilitate conceptual ideation rooted in the concept strategy and client brief
Formulate multiple conceptual directions to represent the brand and visualize those concepts via mood boards
Tailor the directions to the types of inputs and decisions that are needed from the client, and structure the work to show a wide range of possibilities
Upon client selection of directional mood board, generate bespoke design elements to create a robust and striking visual identity
Design logomarks and wordmarks, and evaluating a wide range of typefaces before refining final options
Create color palettes with technical best practices in mind as well as accessibility requirements
Determine typographic systems with numerous hierarchies to enable flexibility across the brand’s touchpoints
Develop patterns, textures, and other secondary graphic elements to expand the identity as needed. Curate the brand’s perspective on photography
Design layout frameworks to give the brand an ownable editorial look
Implement all of the above elements in proof-of-concept mockups to validate the design system and help clients imagine the final product
At every stage of the process, review progress with colleagues to receive feedback and direction
Upon final approval, prepare, export, and package final assets in standard file types and color profiles for handover to the client and utilization by any other designers working on behalf of the brand
Upon final approval, create design guidelines to operationalize the visual identity system to ensure consistent usage in the future
Apply the visual identity system to the previously developed brand narrative and strategy content and pair it with the style guide to create a full brand book

Collateral Design

Utilize the visual identity system to create print and digital collateral as well as signage and wayfinding designs for our brands and clients
Work with Reporting Manager to establish the client’s collateral needs as well as any technical constraints and budget parameters
Conduct visual research as needed to explore forms, materials, and printing techniques to inform your vision for the collateral
Develop collateral package concepts and illustrate them via moodboards
Upon confirmation of selected direction, design layouts with any content or imagery, applying the visual identity, and following and relevant production guidelines
As needed, develop 3D renders and modeling of the collateral pieces
After client approval, work with Reporting Manager to develop and release production-ready mechanicals
Review supplier proofs for accuracy of design intent and oversee supplier pressings as needed

Culture

Suggest materials to read/watch/listen to, events to attend, or internal gatherings to plan in service of cultural development

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design or equivalent is a plus
Minimum 3 years design experience at a branding firm or creative agency
Prior experience in branding and graphic design, including: visual identities, print collateral, and digital design
A strong portfolio of relevant logo, branding, illustrations or other graphics in hospitality/restaurant projects
Well-versed in both print and digital production
Experience working and collaborating with strategists and other creatives
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for Mac, Keynote, and MS Office
A solution oriented, collaborative, proactive individual with strong communication skills.
A flexible and resilient approach with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced and demanding environment.
An eye for detail and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Professionalism in all communications and exchanges
Arabic is a plus, not a must
