Position : Marine Technical Administrator
Education : Diploma or a combination of equivalent
Job Description
Assist line management with the functioning of:
· Secretarial work for the technical department.
· Overall operations of the Technical Department with day to day operations of the company’s vessels.
· Maintain records and promote closing of defects, accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformance reports in addition to Dry Dock, PMS, Site Visit Findings and Action progress tracking.
· Maintain records and promote closing of Warranty Claims Processing
· Monitor emails to/from vessles (ie. Acknowledgement of receipt of important emails, circulars and alerts sent. Defect, work close out, PCS, Non-Conformity, Incident reports, etc.)
· Liaise with the vessels with regards to operational and technical matters.
· Monitor the shipboards marine safety, environmental & quality issues.
· Liaise with Flage State Authorities and Classification Societies when required.
· Ensure that the Vessels Certification are always maintained and formulates the shipboard annual audit plan to ensure that audit are progressed.
· Arrange third party inspections or visit such as sub-contractors, suppliers and clients, class survey inspections and co-ordinate response.
· Monitor the machinery’s manuals, technical file, drawings, plan maintenance, daily reports and all technical reports supply process to vessels ensuring corrections and updates are provided as necessary.
· Any other duties as required by the Head of the Department
Experience
· Knowledge of Maritime Organization, Regulations, Ship Structure, Flag Regulations, national and international rules, organization and management.
· Preferrable experience within the maritime / shipping industry with at least 2 years of administrative background in a busy environment.
· Solid computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT
· Valid UAE DL
· Able to work in a team-based environment and flexible to take on additional tasks to assist the company
· Confident and comfortable with handling confidential data
· Positive approach to the vessel’s crew and management team and proactive with independent working skills.
Knowledge
· Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) mandatory, Microsoft Project, and Auto Cad
· Extensive knowledge and experience in relevant marine and offshore legislations, inspection standards, class rules requirements, and industry codes
