Sr. Sous Chef
Job description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team for one of our clients. A skilled sous chef acts as the head chef’s trusted lieutenant, ensuring the elements of a meal are properly prepared and ready to be served to paying guests.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in planning menus, creating recipes, and developing new dishes.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring all team members know about menu items and cooking techniques.
Supervise the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety, ensuring that all kitchen equipment and work areas are clean and well-maintained.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient service to our guests.
Manage inventory and ordering of food supplies, ensuring that all items are available for service and minimizing food waste.
Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with established standards.
Help schedule and manage kitchen staff to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours
Participate in menu development, recipe testing, and other kitchen-related projects.
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor kitchen staff.
Experience in menu development, recipe creation, and food presentation.
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks at once.
Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
A culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Salary:
up to Aed.12,000+ Services charge
